Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)

The FMNP is associated with the WIC program was established to provide fresh, nutritious unprepared foods (such as fruits and vegetables) from farmers’ markets to women, infants and children who are nutritionally at risk.

The program works much like the WIC program in that it provides vouchers for families to use at certain pre-approved farmer's markets.  The program operates only in the summer months when fresh produce is available in Pennsylvania.

WIC recommends breastfeeding

There are many good reasons for breastfeeding your new born infant and WIC can help you.  We have staff persons who will help you learn about breastfeeding.  You can see a list of good reasons to breastfeed your infant by clicking here.
