Senior Centers and Services

Senior Centers

The CAP Outreach Program operates two Senior Centers at the Lancaster Neighborhood Center and in the Borough of Columbia.

These centers operate five days per week and provide participants with a hot lunch as well as educational,  socialization and recreational activities.  Activities include field trips as well as live entertainment, and health and exercise opportunities.  Participants also receive assistance in identifying other needed services to enable them to remain in their own homes and avoid institutionalization.

Both Senior Centers are funded by the Lancaster County Office of Aging. Transportation is also provided to eligible Seniors Citizens to and from the site.

Location of Senior Centers:

Lancaster Senior Center
Tom Sheaffer, Center Manager
601 South Queen Street
717.299.3943

Columbia Senior Center

For more information about the Senior Centers, contact Anne Floyd at 299-7301 or call one of the centers directly.

Outreach and Case Aide Services:

CAP is also under contract with the Office of Aging to provide services to Senior Citizens throughout Lancaster County.  These services, provided in the home, include assisting Seniors with PACE and Rent Rebate applications, and assisting Seniors in identifying other appropriate health and human services services which will enable the Senior to avoid institutionalization and stay in his/her own home.

To access these services, contact Anne Floyd, Director of Outreach at (717) 299-7301 or (800) 732-0018.  You may also contact her via e-mail.
