Outreach
Services
The CAP Outreach program provides the
"backbone" of the agency. With seven offices throughout Lancaster
City and County,
the Outreach program serves as a vital link between the often confusing
array of agencies and services and low
income families. If a family has a problem and doesn't know where to turn, the CAP
Outreach Program will get them to the right agency and assist in setting up an appointment
for the service. CAP Outreach also follows up on all services to make
sure the problem has been resolved.
The program also provides direct assistance as
noted below and in other areas such as food, clothing and other life
supporting essentials.
Energy Assistance/Housing Assistance:
The Outreach program provides emergency
financial assistance to families facing the cutoff of their utility
service or who have no fuel oil with which to heat their homes. In
addition, CAP provides special financial assistance to families who are living in
shelters, living in unsafe or overcrowded conditions or who are in imminent danger of eviction from their
housing.
