WIC food vouchers give participants access to healthy foods such as whole grains, dairy, produce, and lean protein from WIC authorized stores. Each family’s supplemental food package is determined by a nutritionist at the WIC office. The food voucher (also known as a WIC check) will list all of the items that can be purchased with that particular check. WIC also provides special vouchers for fruit and vegetable purchases that have a specific dollar value. The vouchers may be redeemed at any authorized WIC store in Lancaster County. You can download the list of currently participating stores below.
Interested in learning more about how to use your WIC checks, find great deals in the supermarket, and understand food labels? Sign up for one of WIC’s grocery store tours, offered weekly at grocers across Lancaster City. Email email@example.com or call 717.299.7388, ext. 3040 to get more information or register.
The Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides WIC participants with access to fresh fruits and vegetables from local markets. WIC staff issue vouchers from June through September when local fresh produce is readily available through preapproved farmers' markets. Vouchers can be used at local markets until the end of November each year. Take your kids along to the market and have them help pick out their favorite fruits and vegetables. It’s a great way to get your children excited about healthy eating!

“I learned [from WIC] how to keep a healthy balance of food, especially fruits and vegetables. Even now we all eat whole grain bread with fiber!” - Gladys, Lancaster WIC
